And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
Contemplation
There are different people longing for the manifestation of the glory found in the life of some souls, but not all of them are ready to pay the price. It is good to desire the glory, but not all men are ready to run the race for the glory. A good number of people would rather settle for something else and not be troubled with the cost of fighting to gain the victory. With them, they have something close to the glory, but they know it is not the glory. Until we are able to wait for the manifestation of the glory, nothing else is good enough. Before anything will be counted to be of the Davidic type in the monarchy and covenant, there must be some form of ancestry that points to the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the book of Haggai chapter 2, from verse 20 up to 22, the Spirit of the Lord showed us the great difference. Here is what it says,
“And again the word of the Lord came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,
21 Speak to Zerubbabel [the representative of the Davidic monarchy and covenant and in direct line of the ancestry of Jesus Christ] governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
22 And I will [in the distant future] overthrow the throne of kingdoms and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the [ungodly] nations, and I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them, and the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother.”
By that which has been revealed in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the manifestations that has followed years afterwards, it is obvious that we are about to see a greater dimension of glory that will surprise many. The Lord our God promised that He will cause there to be the shaking of the heavens and the earth. The Lord our God is mightily at work in the overthrow of the throne of kingdoms and He has promised that He will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of those ungodly nations. According to the word of the Lord, “… the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother.” It is obvious that when the Lord our God is at work, none can contend with Him. Beloved, with the Lord, the battle is already won and as many who are with Him, the victory is already settled. Hallelujah!
Practical issues
When the Lord decides to stand against anyone, the battle is already won before it started. For the Lord God Almighty only gave man the opportunity to repent, but it is unfortunate that many counted this for strength and end their lives. Be careful and repent before it is too late. Shalom!
