That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Contemplation
The Lord our God is great and glorious in the midst of us. What a beautiful opportunity for us to be counted worthy to bow in reverence to the King of glory. It is a great privilege for a human being to go down in worship of the Almighty God. The Lord our God rules and reign forever and ever. Remember, it is a glorious opportunity for mankind to stand in the presence of the Lord and become aware of this. The presence of the Lord has been in our midst many of the time, but not all of us have learnt to acknowledge this and bring Him glory.
The Lord in His majesty and power has revealed His glory for the world to see His amazing glory unfold. The word of the Lord says in Ephesians chapter 1 verse 10,
“[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth.”
When the presence of the Lord is made manifest like this, all of creation without doubt has come to count it as a great privilege. It is a great joy for all to see the Lord unifying all things and consummate them in Christ Jesus.
In verse 11 it went on to say,
“In Him we also were made [God’s] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will,”
What a glorious God we serve! The word of the Lord reveals that we have inherited a glorious inheritance from the Lord. By the divine blessing of the Lord, the Lord works out everything in agreement with the council and design of God’s will. Sometimes, it may look like not much is happening, but if we wait on the Lord, beautiful and amazing things will unfold.
The Lord our God has taken us from one dimension of glory to another. The word of the Lord in verse 12 of Ephesians chapter 1
“So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory!”
We have not followed the Lord our God in vain and I am sure the hope that we have shall never be ignored in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Practical issues
The Lord who led us this far will indeed glorify His own name in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Shalom!
